wmw999 2,600 #1 June 2, 2017 I wanted to call my brother to wish him and his daughter a happy shared birthday. They're in Brazil, so I went to my trusty Skype account. Had to do some setup for a new PC, I guess, and fat-fingered the age (not to mention that I didn't have to put an age in before -- WTF now?). So then it thought I was a child, and I had to set up an MS account for Skype to deal with that. But now, to confirm that I REALLY am an adult, they want a credit card number. Yeah, I was the one who went there, so I'm not real worried about skimming my card. But this is complete bullshit. I want to make a friggin' phone call. ryoder 1,590 #2 June 2, 2017 For all online purchases, I use a Bank of America Mastercard which has a feature to create temporary CC numbers, (BoA calls it "Shopsafe"). For a situation like yours, you could create a temporary CC# with a $1 charge limit. I never give anyone online a real CC#."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. skymama 37 #6 June 3, 2017 Do you use FB messenger? My daughter and I use it to make video calls, and the quality is just fine. But, she's just one state away from me, so YMMV.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
