dresherr 0 #1 August 9, 2004 I recently got off student status and am looking for a nice rig. One of the guys i jumped with is selling his rig and let me try it out. I loved it! The whole set up is a Sabre 2 170 with about 90 jumps on it. (Excellent Condition) A 170 Reserve (not sure what make) with only 1 ride on it. Just repacked a week ago. Cypres battery is good for one more year, and Cypres itself is good for 3 more I think. It has a Mirage Container with about 300 jumps on it but looks brand spankin new. No RSL but is set up for one. And he is also going to throw in an altimiter, full faced helmet, jumpsuit, and pack to put it in. I was wondering what you guys think this is worth and if it would be a good deal between 3-4K$
AggieDave 6 #2 August 9, 2004 Here's the deal, you should really talk to your instructors about what would be a good sized main/reserve for you. If this is one of the instructors selling the rig, talk to the S&TA. As for the worth of the rig, well it depends on the condition of the gear. A rigger could help you out with that more then any of us online that have never seen it before.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." dresherr 0 #3 August 9, 2004 I agree 100%. Everyone at the DZ says go for it. The size is perfect. I do well with it being a beginner and all. I just hate to lose my butt in a rig you know. It looks X-cellent to me but what do I know?

Talk it over with someone who knows you, who's been around for a little bit and knows gear in general (a rigger is ideal), and ask him/her... Its hard for us to know... What type of Mirage is it anyways?Remster
riggerrob 643 #5 August 10, 2004 It is probably a good deal, provided you weight 170 pounds or less and the rigger is willing to put in writing that the main is in near new condition. Note that Aerodyne recommends replacing lower steering lines after two hundred jumps. Also ask your local instructors and coaches if they think you are are ready for 170 square foot canopies. Have you completed all of Bill von's canopy exercises (i.e. half-brake turns, etc.) with student canopies?
