Jimmybb 0 #1 July 29, 2004 I was wondering if any riggers out there may be able to help me. Is it possible to add some front dive loops on to a set of risers, or do I need to get a whole new set of risers? thanks James
slotperfect 7 #2 July 29, 2004 Your Rigger can add them. It is a fairly simple modification. For maximum effect, they need to be as high on the risers as possible, with the loops small enough that it results in a long enough "stroke" of the front risers when they are pulled down. "Dive blocks" are another alternative, basically a wrap of webbing sewn down to provide a semi-hard point high on the riser to brace you hand as you grasp the riser and pull it down. Call your rig manufacturer, ask what they recommend. Ask them if they have a written procedure for the modification. Then you can hand that to you Rigger and he will effect the modification to manufacturer's specifications.Arrive Safely John
Jimmybb 0 #3 July 29, 2004 John thanks for the info, I have tried pulling down on the risers myself, but I can not seem to grip them as I'm still flying quite a large canopy, the other prob is when I have tried to contact the manufacture in the past about something else they didn't reply, I don't hold out much hope for getting any info from them on this. we will see though cheers James
RyanofOZ 0 #4 July 29, 2004 Another option is to just order another set of risers with dive loops already on them. Any gear store can do that for you. They run about $100 USOz
FrogNog 1 #5 July 29, 2004 You can try grabbing the link and bumper at the top of the riser and pull down on that. Not an excellent grip improver, and down low if the bumper slips off at the wrong time it could be bad, but it can make it easier to grab than just plain webbing. -=-=-=-=- Pull. brits17 0 #6 July 29, 2004 It will be much more cost-effective for him to have a rigger put dive loops on his current set of risers. Like slotperfect said, its a simple task. James make sure you talk to someone on the phone when contacting your container manufacturer. I too, have had some bad luck with e-mail contact etc. You should get an immediate response if you speak with them. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
