It's a canopy that was produced by Atair Europe I believe. Eliptical, sold through an exclusive dealer in the States.

Never became really popular. I know little about how they fly.

I'd say the popularity was more due to limited marketing. Of course you do know how I feel about Cobalts right?

we designed and manufactured the viper and privately labeled for skydepot/winchester technologies.

the viper was improved into the alpha(also called the space or impulse), which was improved into the cobalt.
