Treejumps 0 #1 July 12, 2004 Can anyone reccomend the make & models of good (and preferably old and inexpensive) harness sewing machines? Starating to make some base rigs and don't like having to borrow equipment. Thanks, Tree
riggerrob 643 #2 July 12, 2004 I have a huge, old, Singer Class 7 sewing machine for harness repairs. This fine machine is older than me! Hee! Hee! I have also used a few - much newer - Consews to build harnesses. The Consews could sew in reverse, but thread tension was awful when sewing in reverse. hookitt 1 #3 July 12, 2004 Yep, what Rob said. I have lots of experience on a Consew. It's a little more quirky than the singer and probably a lot more expensive. Look around for the singer. jdfreefly 1 #4 July 12, 2004 Tree, Try talking to Dave Brussin. He's my boss, tall and lanky and jumps an infinity container. His girlfriend works for a sewing machine manufacturer. No guarantees, but see what he can tell you. Methane Freefly - got stink?

councilman24 37 #6 July 12, 2004 Go here http://www.govliquidation.com/list/c7490/lna/1.html and maybe get one cheap? Within driving of Maryland in N.C. Have never used this site, just found it on a seach. Usually good 7 class are $3000 up. These might need work but look like a good deal to me. Wish I was closer.I'm old for my age. masterrig 1 #7 July 12, 2004 I've got a Singer 7-33 that I picked-up for $1,000.00 incl. table and motor. I got it from a tent and awning company that was going out of business. You might try Sewing Machine Sales in Ohio PM me and I can give you their phone number. Chuck
