Deuce 1 #1 July 11, 2004 I'm pissed. My Neptune crapped out on my on the way to altitude for our tracking contest today. I had no altimeter, and I can't really hear my audible when I am in a full-on track. I had to track after MadJohn and pull when he pulled to know where I was at. The freaking Neptune registered me as 12,000 feet below the surface of the earth when I landed. Is there going to be a Neptune rep at the Herc Boogie? The Neptune is exceptional for a guy like me who does a WHOLE lot of different stuff at the DZ, and doesn't want to dig his Pro-track out of all the different helmets he (or she) wears. But when I am depending on the unit at my Alti, and it craps out in the plane, I am screwed. Thank goodness it wasn't an AFF. I have borrowed an IR replicator and it's telling me to not use the unit. I leave for Sweden Tuesday. I'm bent. Sorry, Alti-2, but this is my second unit, and this is just unsat.
AggieDave 6 #2 July 11, 2004 My Nept crapped out on me hard-core last week. I changed the battery and its fixed. Basically the batterly level meter lies and is a red commie, so try changing the battery.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." GravityGirl 0 #3 July 11, 2004 JP, If it crapped out on the way to altitude, and you are not comfortable jumping without an alti, why did you leave the plane? Just curious. And don't worry, if it was an AFF you could always look at the students alti. Do you want to borrow an alti or audible or both for Sweden while I send back your Neptune? And besides, Mathias said there will be a welcoming commitee in Sweden for you with loads of moonshine, so the chances of you making it out of your trailer are slim! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! I'm comfortable without an alti, it's just not the smartest thing to do. In the tracking contest it screwed me a little bit because I pitched as soon as I saw MadJohn's canopy. Thanks for the offer of an alti, my digitude is back on my wrist for now. Swedish moonshine. I'm doomed.
