slotperfect 7 #5 June 22, 2004 Annually. I skydive nearly year-round here in North Carolina. I land on grass and pack indoors on carpet. I am no where near the coast, so salt air is not a factor. I take very good care of my gear. I would break my rig down for a top-to-bottom inspection around Christmas, use the next couple of weeks to resolve any issues, then pack it after the holidays are over. teason 0 #9 June 23, 2004 I canada, there are no REAL laws, just regulations from our skydiving association. That being said, for our needs up here in the great white north, Once a year would be fine. Although, to be honest, I sometimes repack gear when I see a wrinkle I don't like. A friend of mine left his gear at the DZ a while back. I didn't like the way it had settled and seeing that I was the one who packed it last, I repacked it for him free of charge. I'm really anal and it really bugs me to see anything less than perfection!!!!!!! Now...where's my iron? I've gotta do some rigging. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

CSPA changed the repack cycle from - 120 to 180 days - in 2000. On a practical level, this means that half CSPA members only get their reserves repacked once a year - in the spring - while CSPA members that can afford winter vacations - in warmer climates - get their reserves repacked again at Thanksgiving.
