Finally, from Virginia

Recommended Posts

Hello people! I've been lurking around here for a while and decided to introduce myself.

After doing a few tandems, I've finally scrapped enough funds together to start AFF and work on my license.

First classes start tomorrow (at Skydive Orange in Virginia). I'm a little timid to shed that security blanket of having an experienced jumper attached to you, but I'm also insanely excited to start learning and flying through the air on my own.

My plan is to spend the next few weekends at the DZ, then take an entire week off from work in June to jump everyday.

I've already read most of the SIM and have spent a lot of time on this forum reading experiences from you guys (at the expense of work!). I'm hoping to flip the switch into a blank slate to start from scratch tomorrow morning with the instructors.

Don't mind if I use this thread as a running diary to my A License haha.

Anyway... nice to (sort of) meet you.

Thanks for the welcome! Uneventful weekend.

Clouds kept us on the ground Saturday. Today had beautiful blue skies, but wind gusts of 15-20 mph put a damper on any student jumps. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot just hanging out, though.

It was a little disappointing, but I'll be back next weekend :)
