TheJman 0 #1 October 31, 2010 I am a new the sport. I only did one tandem so far and I cant wait to get going on AFF. I know its a little early to be thinking about this but I am interested in becoming an instructor. Are there any requirements to becoming an instructor besides a D license? And is it really difficult to get hired somewhere with 500 jumps?

Congrats on your tandem, but focus on getting through AFF before worrying about getting hired with 500 jumps. It will take you years to get to that point. skycamefalling 0 #3 October 31, 2010 Welcome to the forums and congrats on the first tandem. It is good to have a goal for the direction you would like to go in skydiving. But first things first. Focus on your AFF right now. Make sure you know which DZ you are going to do you training at. Also, read through the safety section here on the forums. There is a lot of useful information on there for people starting out. No question is a dumb question, but for the best answers, you should always direct your questions to the instructors at where you plan on training at. Once you finish AFF, thats when you should know exactly which direction you want to go in.Speedracer~I predict that Michael Jackson will rise from the dead. And that a giant radioactive duck will emerge from the ocean and eat Baltimore.

popsjumper 2 #5 November 1, 2010 Here's a good place to start. Section 3 will answer your immediate question. You should obtain a hard copy for yourself and read the entire thing. It's our skydiving bible. http://www.uspa.org/SIM.aspxMy reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
