bluetwo 0 #3 July 4, 2010 I don't know what you guys mean by D-1 and D-2 but I just got my first free fall yesterday too. Accidentaly de-arched and went onto my back but as soon as I realized what happened I went through my 1-2-3, arch, reach and pull routine and ended up doing a perfect back flip then deploying without even meaning to. I wish I had that on video...._______________________________________
rottenbob 0 #4 July 5, 2010 d-1 and d-2 refers to where you are in your aff/afp training.. im doing afp which means i did 3 tandoms first refered to as t-1 t-2 t-3.. then did my first assisted solo (b-1) with 1 instructor as opposed to 2 instructors as in aff training.. so d-1 referes to your 4th assisted solo..i rafuse to tip toe thru life, only to arrive safely at death

bluetwo 0 #6 July 5, 2010 Ok cool, I see. At Walterboro we start with static line progression and we do 2 easy static line jumps then move to 3 PRCP's, practice ripcord pulls, before we start doing 5 second free falls. We basically do the same drill with the 5 second free falls where we arch, reach and pull and show good form for a second or two. I can't wait to move to 10 second free fall jumps next!_______________________________________
schutztj 0 #7 July 5, 2010 Relaxation actually plays a huge role in having a jump with good form. I managed to remember that on my first release CatC jump and it was by far my best one yet. I'll let you guys know how it all turns out for me this weekend.
rottenbob 0 #8 July 5, 2010 thats great schutztj, when i did my release jump i didnt realize it was my release jump,, so when i debriefed my instructor asked how i thought it went? i said it felt a little sloppy, thats when he said thats because i let you go.. so in the end it was actually a really good skydive with good heading maintanance..i rafuse to tip toe thru life, only to arrive safely at death
