HoldtheIce 0 #1 August 22, 2009 Blue Skies All, Hello, I'm new to this forum and new to S/D. I've been jumping out of Snohomish, Wa. Doing my level 4 and 5 (static) on the 12th of Sept. Then on to my AFF. Sort of got a late start in this sport. I’m pushing 50. But I tell you, I’ve found nothing else that compares to how I feel when I am in the air. Once my feet touch the ground, all I want to do is get back up there. This stuff has been keeping me up at night. What a rush. I love it. I feel better about myself and more confident at my job. I figure, if I can do this I can do anything. For me, skydiving is a place where I lose myself and find myself. Please tell me if no one else feels the same way. I have about a thousand questions. I’m hoping to meeting some great people and getting some good advice. Right now, I'm asking if there are exercises I can do that will help with arch positioning. Take care, talk to ya soon ~HoldCause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye

gregpso 1 #3 August 22, 2009 Welcome mate. I am the same age. I did 40 jumps in the 80s had 28 years off now taking an interest again. Done 9 tandems over the last year. I have never come across something that dominates my thoughts all the time like this pursuit. But the last 12 months its all I ever thing about. Its annoying that none of my family and friends want to talk about it. To make up for that I ask annoying questions on skysurfer.com.au Its also very expensive which is frustrating as well as I cannot afford to buy my own gear etc but will do AFF soon. (a tandem here cost $360.. not complaining as they have a business to run) Good luck with it and remember 50 is not old these days.I tend to be a bit different. enjoyed my time in the sport or is it an industry these days ??
