Jetstream 300 and Centaurus

Recommended Posts

As some of you know I am planning some water jumps for this summer and have been aquiring some older gear.

Today I collected a Centaurus rig (DOM 4-86) with a Phantom 24 reserve( DOM AUG 86) and a Jetstream 300-7 an F-111 DOM 8-86

It was designed by Tony Cockrell for Jetstream Parachutes in Boalsburg PA according to the data panel.

It looks kinda like a Parafoil and has red CReW lines. Its in SUPER good shape and the guy who had it has had it packed away since 1991.

So all you rigger types that did not sit out jumping during the 80's and 90's like I did.. just what kinda beastie do we have here.

Phantom 24: From acid-mesh era. Also, this canopy should have the Kevlar reinforcing bands added.

Jetstream: made it into the list of manufacturers in Poynter's 2, but not into the text. 300sf? I'd jump it. It would have to be better than the DC-5 I tried last year.

the only way I am gonna jump a rig and possibly ride a round reserve is into the water.. I already have a 24' round reserve ride into the water.. not bad at all.. BWAHAHAHAHAHA..

I also have 2 reserve rides on C-9 reserve.. as well as 2 reserve rides on a 26' LoPo.. remember I come out of the era where we actually learned and taught and USED PLF's. I have a couple hundred round jumps.. they are not all that bad....B|

I hope to see it. It will depend on the day you do it. Sounds like fun though! :)
