BoostedXT 0 #1 May 24, 2004 I am trying to finds PISA's packing recommendations on my Hornet 210. Anyone have it or know where I can get a copy? Is this something you think Aero would have on file now that they own them? skymedic 0 #2 May 24, 2004 straight pro pack from what I remember when I jumped one. nothing fancy. although I psychpacked mine with very good results on the openings. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
slotperfect 7 #3 May 24, 2004 I jump a Hornet 210 owned by the RPC School as a backup rig when we are swamped with AFF. I PRO pack it, folding 4 and 4 to the center, quartering the slider. I get great openings that way. Others have told me they have the occasional hard opening, but I have not using that pack job. BTW - I pack my Sabre2 the same way, although I do notice that it opens slower and softer than the Hornet. Edit: for clearer verbage.Arrive Safely John
BoostedXT 0 #4 May 24, 2004 Great thanks for the info on the packing guys. I will stick with the Pro pack and see how that treats me. This info is something that comes with the canopy when you buy it from a manufactorer correct? Could I call Aero and see if they have it on file? Or is that proposterous? Thanks! slotperfect 7 #5 May 24, 2004 A manual containing packing instructions does in fact come with a new canopy. PISA, the original manufacturer of the Hornet, was bought out by Aerodyne. PM atsaubrey here in the forums or call Aerodyne and I'll bet they can get you what you are looking for!Arrive Safely John

skyyhi 0 #7 May 24, 2004 I propack my roommates hornet when I jump it and it flies just fine. . .no special tricks needed and no surprises on opening. I am not aware of the packing recommendations but I am sure that someone will have the info. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

tommymc 0 #9 May 25, 2004 Joe: I've got the manual for my Hornet (near end of production prior to Aerodyne). The packing instructions are very straight forward pro-packing. At step 8, with everything hanging in front : "Remove the nose from between your knees and push it up into the tail. There is no need to fold the nose. Fold the adjacent cells on each side inwards toward the centre on an equal balance on both sides, which will give you a softer on-heading opening. Ensure that the slider is still in front of the nose" The rest of it is very standard with the tail rolled enough to keep everything together. It works for me. Hope this helps. livnbored 0 #10 May 25, 2004 I agree with slotperfect... never had a complaint when packing 4 and 4 to the inside... But remember, recommendations are just that.
darrenspooner 0 #11 May 26, 2004 I was int he same quandry when I bought a second hand Hornet 150. It was spanking me real bad, so the lovely man from Aerodyne dug out a manual and sent it to me, along with a price list for their new stuff. I personally roll the whole nose really tightly 3 times and stuff it in towards the back, with half the slider sticking out the front. Its about the best solution I came up with, but still opens too hard.***Die with yer boots on
skymedic 0 #12 May 26, 2004 Put a pocket on your slider....that will tame the openings some. marc
steve1 5 #13 May 27, 2004 My hornet was really opening hard for a while. I now roll the nose 4 and 4 to the center. (3 or 4 rolls each). Pulling the nose of the slider out a little also seems to help. My bag is one size too small and I have been psycho packing it to get it all in there neatly. It hasn't spanked me for a long time....Steve1
