MandyinVT 0 #1 April 14, 2009 Hi all, I'm new to the site so just thought I'd say hi. I did my first tandem jump a couple of years ago and couldn't stop talking about it but never got to try it again till a couple of weeks ago. My first jump was up in Vermont where I now live but recently I was on vacation in Arizona and found a flyer at my hotel for Red Rock Skydiving, I picked up the flyer called the # and drove right there! The second jump was even more amazing than the first. The nervousness was gone since I had done it before, and the staff was so great, so I was able to just enjoy every second of it!!!! I don't think anything could be better then freefall. People ask me to explain how it feels and I can't. I have decided to start a skydiving fund for myself so I can get certified to fly alone. Can anyone recommend a good place in New England?

howardwhite 6 #5 April 15, 2009 Jumptown, in Orange, MA is about 70 miles from you (assuming you're in Springfield, VT) -- straight shot down I-91 to Rt. 2 east. Open Thurs-Sunday. Twin Otter and Cessna. Great instructors and student gear and cool people. Come play. HW
zoom1 0 #6 April 17, 2009 vermont skydiving adventures in addison ,its about 2 miles from the bridge that goes over to port henry ny.you jump right next to lake champlain with views of lake george, mount washington, burlington. ole and the crew are the best and really take the time to help you out. i did static line at about 5 differnt dz's and decided to take the aff course there .i wasnt the best student and they helped alot to get me my "a". my advice would be check out a few dz's to see which one you feel comfortable at. darthur2000 0 #7 April 18, 2009 I'd recommend starting at the closest DZ. You can spend an entire day at the DZ and only get one or two jumps in when you're early on in the AFF program so adding extra hours of drive time is tough to justify imo. But if you try it and don't fit in hit Jumptown in Orange, MA. Great bunch of people there and if they don't fit your style come on down to CPI in Connecticut (my home DZ). jim_32766 0 #8 April 22, 2009 Mandy, congrats on the jump. It really is amazing isn't it? I hope you find a DZ you like within comfortable driving distance for the AFF. I am waiting for a free day with good weather to do my AFF 7 jump. Only suggestion a newbie like me could give is plan to do a couple of jumps each time you are at the DZ working on the AFF. It makes the learning more fun and quicker. Blue Skies! The meaning of life . . . is to make life have meaning.
