Peej 0 #2 February 21, 2009 Welcome to the forums, doing pretty good thanks mate Your first task is to click the Dropzones link at the top of this page, search for your area and then pick out the DZ's near you. Go hang out, introduce yourself as a potential student, see what the vibe is like and which one you think you'll like best. Then choose a training method: AFF of SL or start with a tandem, lay down the money and you're A for away. Good luck, let us know how it goes Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

hook2001321 0 #5 February 21, 2009 Hey thanks for the info. I have actually been looking up info for the past week or so and i'm slowly getting new stuff as i go. I have actually found a DZ pretty close to my home, so that is what has peaked my intrest into getting into the sport a little more. I live in Purvis Mississippi and have Gold Coast about 10 mile from my home in Lumberton so that is going to work out pretty good. I am currently Offshore working so i will stop by and talk with them and check out the DZ and what it is like around their when i return home in a few days. I currently have a big delima in my plans. That is i'm a fairly short guy at 5'9" and weight quiet a bit at 280 lbs. I have had a friend already talk with gold coast, so i will have to get down to about 240 lbs before i can do a tandom jump. I have also checked into skydive spaceland in Houston and i can jump their at 280 but i figure its better that i loose some weight before i go. Since i'm pretty excited to get started i think that its going to be a pretty good motivator to start loosing weight for i can jump. Thanks for the help. Peej 0 #6 February 22, 2009 You're most welcome and it sounds like you have thought things out fairly well. Kudos to you for wanting to lose some weight, i promise after you have experienced that first freefall you'll realise just why skydiving was such a good motivation Take care and keep checking back in here and let us know how it goes!
