unrequited 0 #1 December 10, 2008 I've been here in AZ for about a month on business and I finally got the chance to go skydiving this past weekend for the first time, it's the biggest rush I've ever had. I think imma make it my "thing" whenever I get put on long assignments like this one, so next month, wallet-willing, I'll be skydiving off the north shore of Oahu. THANK YOU guys at Skydive AZ (especially Sam & Jared) who made it so much fun. The first thing to hit me was how nonsensical jumping out of a perfectly good airplane is. After a 10 minute climb in the prop plane, and somebody opening the side door, my mouth dropped as I saw a 4-person formation group nonchalantly step out. 0_o Another two poeple before me, and then I was at the door looking at the photographer Sam who was just one-handing the little hold so he could get my good side. I figured what the hell and went into super-fun mode, no longer scared at all. I don't remember much of the freefall other than not being able to keep my mouth closed heh. Jared took us into some light spins, and after deploying the canopy he took some pretty sharp zig-zags (definitely not the terminology heh) and this hillarious death spin where it felt like we were 90 degrees sideways. Perfect landing, and it was all over. : ( I need to jump again. It probably isn't a thrill to see these pics for you guys anymore, but every time I look at them, my heart starts racing. Thanks again Sam & Jared! wolfriverjoe 1,523 #5 December 11, 2008 One of the instructors at my DZ says "now you know why the birds sing". Yes, I've seen those pictures and that video a bunch of times before. All well done tandem videos are about the same. That doesn't lessen my enjoyment of the thrill on your face after landing, or the "it's starting to feel real" at 7k. I'm glad you had a good time and are coming back for more."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
