gwallace1 0 #1 August 19, 2008 I know you probably see these all the time...but I completed my first tandem dive on Saturday at Skydive Tahoe in Minden, NV. I went with five guys from work...all on their first jump and all I can say is I AM HOOKED!!! I am 35 and now all I can think about is getting going on my AFF....I knew I would love it, just not this much!! What a great sport, great people and a Fantastic First jump...I just wish I could remember the first five seconds of freefall...Maybe next time. I have been trying to read all I can about the sport over the last few weeks, I am really interested in the layout / design of the chute, lines, packs etc....Basically proper nomenclature and function...any pointers / links would be great. PS if you are in the Reno area Skydive Tahoe has a great facility and staff....(I have not been anywhere else), but I was very impressed. Blue Skies!!! mrbiceps 0 #2 August 19, 2008 Welcome buddy. How good is freefall hey. I am a beginner also and have just finished my AFF course. Its the best thing i have ever done. I have done 18 jumps in total and count down the days to the weekend every week. You wont regret doing the AFF course, its such a challenge and i feel that i really accomplished something. good luck .
Chubba 0 #3 August 19, 2008 Welcome to DZ.com If you enjoyed your first tandem that much, don't have any second thoughts and go sign up for AFF, it will blow you away The first jump is always a blur, after you get over the sensory overload everything slows down a lot... freefall is quite long and you will be able to relax and remember it. It's very nice

fffunatic 0 #6 August 19, 2008 Hi, I too have only completed one tandem and fell in love with blue skies and 120 mph; the most amazing feeling EVER! Definitely the best thing I have ever done. I was enjoying the free fall so much, that I forgot to keep my arms crossed until the pilot shoot was out; I realized that I had uncrossed my arms to soon and crossed them again about 20 seconds into the free fall. I knew I had done something wrong so I just thought okay cross my arms. It is awesome to see my TI uncross my arms in the stills! I am definitely going to take AFF = PFF in Canada. However, I am a student and am returning to school in 13 days. I was wondering if it is best to take the solo and 2 IAD jumps just before I start AFF or can I do them now? For my grad present to self I am going to do a three day wind tunnel camp in either Orlando or Union City...any comments on doing a 3 day wind camp before AFF or after AFF? Thanks!
