Dusting off the cobwebs

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I was fairly active in the sport around the turn of the century, and then hung up my wings for a few years as life got in the way!

So, I'm getting back into the sport, and can't wait to start flying again!

I'm going to get some retraining, but does anybody have any links to review material to help me catch back up?

Cheers!

Hi and welcome back.

It may help if the experts here knew more about your jumping history (where, how many, type of jumps etc..), so thay can give you better (?) advice for your revission.

Have fun.

Sure!

~250 jumps, mostly sitfly/freefly. I was jumping out of Perris and sometimes San Diego.

I've been reading through the SIM, but its a bit dry. It would be cool to use some kind of Flash-based tool to get back up and running.

By the way, is the Reserve Repack cycle still 120 days or did we fix that yet? :)

Hello,

I'm in a similar situation as you. My home drop zone made me take the first jump course ground school, then make a couple of recurrency jumps with an instructor. It was expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. I remembered 99% of the information, and it had not changed since the turn of the century. But it is that last 1% that will get you. Regardless of what anyone tells you here, you'll have to do what your drop zone tells you to do. So expect to shell out some money. But like I said, it is well worth it.
