NattyGirl 0 #1 July 15, 2008 I am looking for people to jump with at the Eloy DZ. I only have 5 jumps and at least 20 more to go before I can really even "jump" with the normal folk, but it would be nice to meet some people at the dz so I don't have to jump and then just go home like a loser! I would love to meet some other girls so I am not all by my lonesome, but I suppose boyz are okay too!! I try to go every Sat or Sun, but at least every other weekend. Looking forward to many years of this awesome sport!
skymama 37 #2 July 15, 2008 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Peej 0 #3 July 15, 2008 Welcome to the forums! Like Skymama said, hang around after jumping and you'll soon meet people. Don't be afraid to approach people either, when i was at Perris a few years back i knew no one and was forced to walk up to people, stick out my hand and say hi. I met some of my best friends that way Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
NattyGirl 0 #4 July 15, 2008 Thanks for the advice! I am just kind of introverted at first and I feel like all the guys there think I am just a stupid girl who doesn't know anything (which, in reality, I don't know anything about skydiving!), but I guess just need to get over that and try to meet people. Thanks again!
skittles_of_SDC 0 #5 July 16, 2008 welcome. I disagree with skymama. I feel the best way to meet people become know is to do the opposite of what skymama said about not getting hammered. get really trashed make stupid bets and wind up with a unique nickname. Then everybody will know who you are. Not that I know from personal experience. No but seriously, just start talking to people. Like if you are waiting for the plane to come down just start talking to other people on your load. I have also found that if you can make it out there on weekdays, there are less people but you can usually make some pretty good friends out of the few that are there. Remster 30 #6 July 16, 2008 Welcome! My wife and I will be there this Saturday doing some 4way, so come and say hi! Once you get past the student status, and want to learn things right from the get go, come chat with the Divewerkz folks...Remster
NattyGirl 0 #7 July 16, 2008 Thanks Skittles! I will definitely try to the weekday thing and I thought your "get trashed and get a nickname" advice was classic! I'll see what I can do!
NattyGirl 0 #8 July 16, 2008 Thanks Remster! I will be there this Sunday and then the second weekend in August I will be there Sat and Sunday. I will definitely look for you guys while I am there. skittles_of_SDC 0 #9 July 16, 2008 I'm trying to put a trip out there during the winter together. Gotta visit all my ASU friends. Maybe we'll run into each other.
