djta0707 0 #1 May 13, 2008 I started out with a tandem jump and when we landed I knew I was hooked so I started the aff levels about 2 months ago and finished all the levels this saturday. I am so hooked. All I think about day and night even at work is skydiving. Its like it is the only thing that exist. I can't wait until I reach aff and tandem soi can start helping others become a part of the sport. I've been looking all over the internet trying to learn anything I can about the sport, escpecially tips and techniques on freefalling, canopy work, swooping, everything. I know I am a beginner and don't need to rush into things and I will not do until I feel comfortable with it, but I am the type person that wants to know everything there is to know. I beleive I have seen every video on skydivingmovies.com and dropzone.com and have already learned alot which makes me alot more comfortable before exiting the plane. Dropzone.com already gives me good info but if there is any where else to get some good tips, tricks, videos or techniques I would thank you

dunesurfer 0 #3 May 13, 2008 Spend as much time as you can at the DZ. If you are in AL, it should be Skydive Alabama. The crew there are very professional and good people all around. Talking to the instructors and coaches at the DZ is really your best primary resource for this info.

See their website at www.skydiveal.com Don't bother with ASC in Prattville, they seem to be shut down for good. The regulars there have pretty much bailed out, and some do jump at Cullman now."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

Thomaston is a great place, as well as The Farm. All three DZs have great vibes, so you've got some good choices. Sletzer 3 #7 May 15, 2008 How's it going? I live in Auburn, AL and I've been making the drive to Thomaston every other weekend. I've also been going to The Farm a lot more because I love the people and attitude there. Never been to the one in North Alabama, but I hear good things. I'll be back at SDATL after skyfest in June. Hit me up sometime and I'll have a beer with you at the DZ. Have fun! And don't get spoiled by the King Air and 8 minute rides to altitude, most aircraft take much longer. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251
