andm31 0 #1 October 8, 2007 Hi guys and gals! Just wanted to introduce myself here. My first skydive was made a little over two years ago at Skydive Hawaii, a tandem and I really liked it. But it wasn't until last fall that I decided to learn how to do it. I took the ground course (it's a 40 hour course) at Halmstad Fallskärmsklubb (Halmstad skydiving club), passed the ground course and did my first static line jump on 9th of September 2006. I did a total of seven jumps, passed five of them and then the season ended. Since I had more than a six month after my last jump that fall I had to start over at 1 and slowly progressed during spring and summer (we've had some really crappy weather over here) until I finally made my jump and got my license on September first 2007. I spent a large part of my training jumps being terrified I might add. All together it took 37 jumps (I'm total crap at some parts, but I'm practicing it) to pass. My background is as a psychology teacher, I have studied Psychology, Pedagogy (and a bit of English, Math and a Physiology) at the university and I'm currently working as a family counselor. I'm really fascinated by humans, the way we interact, how we function under stress, basically what makes us tick and that is where I've focused my life both professionally and privately. What else... I'm 29, live in a midsized Swedish town on the westcoast called Halmstad (mostly famous for being the hometown of one half of the group Roxette... if anyone knows who they are?), I spend a lot of time with my friends, I love: photography, movies, flightsims (yeah I'm a nerd), cycling, cooking... what else... hmm... oh yeah: I'll try to represent the newbies here, I'll try to ask all the stupid questions (within reason) that a newbie as myself might ask Blue skies!
