sporkboy 0 #1 July 20, 2007 So after finally putting enough away to get my A license I finally got up and was able to do my first two tandems on 7/7 at Skydive Spaceland. The first one was like nothing I ever experienced, even with having prepared myself at least I was still able to pull and that is about all I could do with how completely overwhelmed I was. The second (3 loads later) great now no ground school for 4 days long excruciating days! Make it down to Thursday night and go through ground school and Skyfest had just started, I decided that I did not want to jump my fist time under my own canopy under that busy of skies as there were on saturday, but still had a great time, from watching an attempt for the Texas State Womens Record, A Texas State Wing suit Record (22 way) set. Finding a great used Mirage G-4 rig which I sent back with Ward to add some mod's and a great time in the evening with the auction, and the SCR's to finish out the evening (this was a lot of fun). So finally Sunday rolls around, I show up bright and early to get jumping and the weather sucks, sit around for a couple of hours for the rain to blow over and got 2 jumps in. I then decided to go and see Harry Potter in 3D on the IMax on Monday, which turns out to be the only day so far there was weather or the people there to get jumps the rest of the week. I am going crazy. This rain NEEDS to leave Texas and let me get back up and in the Sky. Spork

SkyChimp 0 #3 July 20, 2007 The weather won't always be that way. Sometimes that they way it is. I remember a couple of weeks ago in Florida when there wasn't a cloud in the sky first thing in the morning and by 1pm, we were on weather hold for the rain. It's part of the sport. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
sporkboy 0 #4 July 21, 2007 Yeah, I was watching the weather reports today and saw the celing rising to over 12k and decied to head down to the DZ, as I was in Manifest they decieded to pull the Otter out and load 1 went up with Deguello 17 a great 16-way team down here for training, as well as a 4-way team training, While they were flying I went through Malfunction Junction and was able to get up on two of the five flights for the day before the lower clouds and rain started to crawl in again. I am still not happy with my Team Poised Exits, but they are getting better, and even with no wind on the ground and wearing a tugboat (230 Javelin) I did get one of my landing Proficiencies on STP 4. spork
