DiamondGirl 0 #1 July 18, 2007 Hi everyone! I made my first tandem jump on Sunday. Unbelievable! I thought I'd be terrified, or at least a little nervous. Watching the tandems from the loads before me walk back into the waiting area with these huge smiles on their faces just got me so amped, I was way too excited to be scared. On our way to the dropzone, my friend kept talking about AFF (this was also his first), and how he wanted to jump alone. I thought he was nuts. Lo and behold, after the tandem all I could think about was how great the jump was, but how much better it would be to jump solo! I've been looking into it, and lurking around these boards for a few days. My friend already set up his level 1 class/jump, but I think I would feel more comfortable doing IAF instead. Something about being alone under canopy the first time scares me. Any experiences you'd like to share? Either way, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I look forward to jumping again (and again, and again...)

sporkboy 0 #3 July 20, 2007 I was thinking of looking for a AFF Program here but am really glad that I experience a Tandem, just to let my self go and go ahead and be completely overwhelmed with everything my instructor through at me (I slightly new him before and he give me quite a ride for a fist tandem) I have my two Tandems and 2 STP's the second was much easier to settle in and really remain alt aware. I would recommend to everyone to at least do one tandem at first, it may cost a little bit more but I found it worth every penny to be able to just experience it and not worrying about pulling and flying myself for the first time. virgin-burner 1 #5 July 23, 2007 i was scared shitless starting right off with aff. but it was worth it for me, as there was nothing really out there to scare me.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. birdshit 0 #6 July 30, 2007 Driving the thing is pretty easy. I mean, an XBox has more controls, right? And being alone under the canopy for the first time was the most rewarding experience of my life. There is nothing I enjoy more than the instant I know I have a good solid canopy over my head, and I can grab my toggles, check stability and take a few seconds to just look around at the world below... I can't describe it to you. You have to feel it for yourself.
