timbo_auzz 0 #1 March 26, 2007 Hello everybody, Just dropping by here to say hi and introduce myself. I just did my second ever tandem jump yesterday and I absolutly loved it! It has been about 7 years from my first tandem for my 18th birthday then gave my Girlfriend a tandem jump yesterday for her birthday. But I could not let her have all the fun so I did my second jump as well. We even busted through a cloud which was the higlight of the jump! So Amazing! I now want to look further into skydiving as a sport but I am not sure where to really start. I found a bit of info on the net about AFF, Static line and Tandem courses. Which is reccomemded and could anyone reccommend a company in Brisbane, Australia or local area who I could do the course through? I really hope to get into the sport, make some new friends and have a blast doing it. Thanks in advance for any info. Cheers Timbo!
Peej 0 #2 March 26, 2007 Mmmmmmmmm clouuuuuuds Wicked cool man, glad you enjoyed the jump You might PM Squeak or Bob.dino as they are both Auzzie jumpers who will be able to steer you in the right direction. In my opinion though, AFF is the way to go if you can afford it. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

timbo_auzz 0 #4 March 26, 2007 Not too Sure... considering it has only been 24 hours since my second jump and that I have deceided to do a course!!! I think it will be easier if we both can do it together! It would be awesome if we could both do the course! I think I could do it by myself but it would take a lot of courage on my part. I think I am willing to do it though! Thanks heaps for your opinon too!
Nikki_vZ 0 #5 March 26, 2007 If you know for sure skyding is for you and you have the money for the course i would also recommend AFF, but on the other hand, if you are a person that panics quickly (kinda like me) i would then recommend Static line. I did my 1ste jump this past weekend and even SL was pretty stressful for me, i don't think i would have been able to handel AFF. Static line is cheaper and a bit slower. Gives you more time to settle and get use to everthing. Good luck with which every direction you decide to go! I hope you pick one that is most suitable for you

The dropzone listings on this site should tell you what DZs are near you. You might also ask at Skysurfer.com.au, which has mostly jumpers from Oz and NZ. Despite the name, they discuss skydiving in general there, not just skysurfing. If you end up with a choice of DZs, it might be worthwhile to go to each one and hang out and check them out. You may find you like the "vibe" at one DZ more than another. Welcome! EulePLF does not stand for Please Land on Face.
