Got a date for my AFF

Recommended Posts

Just got my start date for AFF :)

Ground school on May 6th (yes less than 2 weeks away :D ) and first (and hopefully more) jump planned for 7th. I also have tunnel time booked for Monday.

Not really looking for answers, just excited like a kid at Xmas and no one else I know skydives so I wanted to share with like minded ppl who I'm sure will understand my excitement.

:D

Good call on the tunnel time, it will definitely help you perform.

Listen to your instructors, ask questions no matter how stupid they may seem, and have fun! Peace.

Appreciate it man, can't wait :)

Not a very good idea to take your date with you to the dropzone for your AFF. You'll be in class and your date will be hanging out watching all the hot swooping and ego strutting on display and you'll end up coming out of class to find your date in the ghetto.
you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Regarding bringing a date to the DZ:

You can leave $7000 worth of gear unattended at the DZ and it will probably be fine. However, never leave your girlfriend or beer unattended lest they be stolen!
The choices we make have consequences, for us & for others!

He thinks we're joking but we're not. :o:D

I've been out on the strut waiting for my buddy to quit trying to kiss my girlfriend taking a spectator ride and climb his a$$ out for the skydive. >:(:D

Edited to add: This was many years ago, before I met and married Vskydiver. This was NOT a recent occurrence. :$

did my 6 minutes tunnel time last night, by the end of it I was fairly stable and could do some turns using my hands.

For the first 3 minutes I had my arms too low and my hands infront of my face rather than higher up and out. As such I was bouncing round all over the place and it was not fun. Once the coach told me to hold my hands higher above my head and straighten my legs a bit things felt better. I also think I was arching more from my chest rather than my waist... things to work on!!!

I think that because the tunnel is such a confined space (compared to a jump) then you are VERY aware of mistakes and loss of position. I think this is a good thing but also dents the confidence a little.

Roll on the 7th and my first jump :D
