Arkady 0 #1 November 16, 2005 Hey guys, finally stumbled along the forum. Mine name's Chris, and I've been into skydiving since I was little... Unfortunately I just did my first tandem last summer. It was enough... I'll be getting my A license next season. I know, nothing to some of you other guys. But it's a first step... Anyway.. I was wondering if there were regional sub-forums? I'd like to meet some other Colorado people. Also I need some help with basics... Any noob reading around? Thanks guys. -Chris
Peej 0 #2 November 16, 2005 Hey Chris, welcome to the forums! Congrats on your first jump, now go get that "A" You say you've been in the sport since you were little, are you a jumper's kid? As for regional sub-forums, no, we don't have any pf those but there are planty of peeps from Colorado who post here. Why not stick up a post in the Bonfire and ask around? Have fun here! Arkady 0 #3 November 16, 2005 Thanks for the welcome PJ. My dad wasn't a diver, his friend Skip was though. I just always had an interest in it. My mom always tried talking me out of it by saying it costs too much. Like, $1000 a dive. So I never looked into it much. Finally last summer I said screw it. Even if it's $1000. So my moms plan backfired when I found out it was only $200. I did my first dive later that week. Liked it more then I thought I would. I would have got my license then but my time and money was already tied up in a real estate license. So I'll definitely be getting it this summer. So, so far I've found some great articles on suits and rigs in the archives, anything on sky surfing? Haven't seen much...
Peej 0 #4 November 16, 2005 Quoteso far I've found some great articles on suits and rigs in the archives, anything on sky surfing? Haven't seen much... Yeah man, this site is wicked for info. I joined just after i did my first couple AFF dives and reading the forums definately helped me a whole lot. When you do start jumping though just remember to check any advice or info you find here with your instructors. As for skysurfing, check out this link: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_string=Skysurfing&search_type=AND&search_fields=sb&search_time=&search_user_username=&sb=score&mh=25 I haven't read any of the threads as it's not really my thing. Funnily enough, when i started jumping i was really keen to try it but freefly and wing suiting grabbed me instead Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

As for skysurfing, not that many people are into doing it anymore. There's talk about even taking it out of the national competition. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
