Mike111 0 #2 October 10, 2005 Congrats on stopping the turn, ive never managed to stop it yet but a wind tunnel should help that!! It seems a very common problem. Good luck with the rest of your course, and welcome

brianfry713 0 #4 October 10, 2005 Relax. Be loose. If you start to turn once released, dip the opposite shoulder (twisting on your roll axis) to stop the turn. Same thing with 360's, you have plenty of time / altitude to complete the turn. Don't rush it, turn slowly and you shouldn't have a problem stopping the turn by using your shoulders & arms. Have fun, good luck.BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative
slayer152 0 #5 October 10, 2005 i sorta had the same problem with my right arm. my instructor told me to relax a bit more and bend my arms at the elbows and bring my hands in a little just enough to see them. it helped alot and stopped my spin. try it out or ask your instructor about that arm position. i tried it in the tunnel before i did it in freefall and it helped. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________The only thing in life that doesnt take effort is failure________________

Scoop 0 #7 October 13, 2005 Hey, I spent some time in the tunnel after level 4. Made my turns for level 5 pretty nice. Tunnel taught me 2 crucial things, and you just gonna have to take my word for it for now. 1) RELAX! 2) If all goes wrong, ARCH! You will recover stable
