mailin 0 #3 August 30, 2005 Hey Amanda, You can't go wrong with Jumptown - in Orange, MA. There are tons of instructors and lots of good people to jump with. Check out their website at: www.jumptown.com Diane is the manager and she usually answers the phones during the week - she's super helpful and can give you lots of info. Good luck! Look me up if you're out there! JenArianna Frances
divegoddess 0 #4 August 30, 2005 I have heard about their freak fly school and was seriously considering flying lessons... but one thing at a time. first my license. I'm in Portsmouth so I'm not sure how far away that is. I will check into it. I have heard mixed things about skydive newengland. That is 15-20 minutes from me. It would be nice to go there after work on a friday. But I would like to have another option. When I called skydive ne up they seemed prety bothered by my questions. Thanks for the suggestion. jman 0 #5 August 31, 2005 When I called skydive ne up they seemed prety bothered by my questions. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure why dz offices seemed bothered by phone calls, but several I have dealt with seem that way. However, I did my aff at Skydive New England, and they were excellent. The instructor that I did the most work with was Barry, but all the instructors were great. The dz can be a little breezy midday at times so you may lean toward morning or late afternoon jumps. Have Fun!
Jeff.Donohue 0 #6 September 1, 2005 Hi there. Another DZ you may want to consider, along with Orange, is Pepperell (website is www.skyjump.com). I'm in the middle of AFF there, and it's been a great experience. Good luck and blue skies...
shaggio 0 #7 September 1, 2005 You may also want to visit Olie and skydive vermont. They are a small drop zone with 1-182 and a 206. You will get a personal experience with a great reputation of teaching students. They also have a HUGE area to land in. Good luck. Shaggo
divegoddess 0 #8 September 2, 2005 A HUGE landing area is definitely a plus. Though I would like to think that 20 years of ballet would make my landings graceful, I know it will take some practice.
biuliano 0 #9 September 3, 2005 I learned to skydive in VT. We jump there every Monday. Most of the time I jump out of Orange on weekends.
