deltablue 0 #1 June 8, 2005 I made my very first tandem jump back in march as kind of a late birthday present to myself and I can honestly say it changed my life. :) Ever since , all I've done has been read every friggin thing I can get my hands on , save the $ and this past weekend finally was able to sign up for an IAF tandem progression....passing the first 2 levels Sunday afternoon!!!! omg I'm VERY VERY sore still but ecstatic ! :) Seems like the biggest thing for me right now is learning how to RELAX in that arch while concentrating on my objectives and maintaining everything else that goes with the dive.....along with overcoming a few fears that tend to rear their heads... (everyone says that will just take time and the main thing is I AM facing them). FrEaK_aCcIdEnT 0 #2 June 8, 2005 thats cool. im making my first tandem jump on saturday. already started saving for my AFF trining at the end of July. Cant wait! There is a book I was told about and i got it at my DZ. its the Skydivers Instruction manual. its 25-30 bucks and it has everything u need to know. im getting all of my pre-knowledge from it so when i go to take my course i can focus more on the jumps and technique rather than trying to remember facts. they will already be in my head. Good luck with ur training! ExPeCt ThE uNeXpEcTeD! DoNt MiNd ThE tYpOs, Im LaZy On CoRrEcTiOnS!

I can't tell you how many people i've said that to and as far as i'm concerned it's the honest to God truth! Congratulations on passing your first two levels and welcome to dizzy.com As you prgress further in your jumping career you'll find that you start to relax more and more, i find that doing some deep breathing in the plane really helps me relax. I also met a girl in the US who screams as soon as she gets out the door, she said it helped her get all the air out of her lungs and made her breathe during the skydive. Master this now and you won't regret it Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky

It's just going to take some time :) Thanks :)~He who looks outside his own heart dreams, he who looks inside his own heart awakens - Carl Jung~ My Space
Orange1 0 #6 June 8, 2005 welcome to our world!! I presume one of the fears you mention is door fear? peej is right - some deep breaths before exit help. and one day instead of "aargh! they're opening the door" it'll be "at last i can get out!" and you'll be there probably sooner than you think Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. firstime 0 #7 June 9, 2005 Hey deltablue, Relaxing is the key, but when I was going thru AFF, relax was " I just jumped out of an airplane" and you want me to relax.... are you fricking nuts. hehe Once you get that level of confidence then it all comes together. Give it a couple of more jumps and you will be " wow it works" then the fun begins. Good luck, be safe & blue skies
