Pit special for beginner?

Recommended Posts

Hi people,

I have 20 jumps and I'm looking foward to do 40-60 jumps this summer (starting to get more serious in the sport).

I need a relative jumpsuit. Of course, the pit special caught my attention. Is it an expert suit ? Am I going for an overkill? Should I start with something cheaper? (I have the money for the suit, that is not problem). Which options should I choose?

Note: For freefly, I'll buy another suit if needed.

Thanks

Which suit to choose depends on your body size, weight and how fast you fall. If you're a featherbutt (ie fall slow) then the Pit might be the right choice for you. If you fall fast then the Pit would not be the right choice.

I'd suggest talking with a jumpsuit dealer (or two or three) regarding what suits will work best for you.

I'd reccomend doing some 2-ways with experienced skydivers, or RW coaches before getting a suit, as they will be able to tell you wether you are falling fast or slow and you can decide on the correct suit for you.

I rushed into buying a brand new RW suit before really doing lots of formation dives and ended up sinking out on everyone because the suit was too fast.
I had to buy a different suit which works perfectly for my fall rate, but I just wish i'd held off buying the first one coz i wasted £200 on a suit that i never use!
