RickDunnam 0 #1 December 16, 2004 Just dropping in to say hi. (no pun intended). I like the site, there is not a whole lot on the web (that does not just repeat the last site) and most of it is scattered. I have found browsing the forums interesting. I was a paratrooper in the Army (five jump chump) I never got assigned to an airborne unit ??? , and I am out now. So I have static jumped 5 times. now I am looking to invest the money in AFF and A license program at my local (hour away) DZ. It all boils down to this, I have left an aircraft but body position and landing was totally different ( and no freefall :-( . I am looking forward to spring, that is when the money will be surplused enough for me to drop the first three levels worth of money. Good day, Rick
op5e 0 #2 December 16, 2004 Hi Rick, Hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do. I am only very new to the sport also. One tip I have is to budget so that you do not have to repeat stages just because you havent jumped in 3 months. Make it clear to the dropzone you want to get your license and ask what is needed to get there, and what length of time you can take off if bills come up etc.. Having said that pace yourself and dont feel like you need to do it all at once, the sky is always there. Try to do it in such a way that you best can sustain your habbit (addiction?). So I take it your static jumps were roundies? You will get a nice suprise the first time you jump a normal chute. Welcome again and enjoy. -op5e
