jerryzflies 0 #1 October 16, 2004 I'm a pilot thinking of trying skydiving: It's cold at altitude even in a plane! What is it like outside the plane at 13k? Is there much of a wind chill effect? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.

skymama 37 #4 October 16, 2004 Welcome to the forums! Seriously, we just wear more layers under our jumpsuits and it's easier to tolerate since we go so fast anyway. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Flyinrob 0 #6 January 3, 2005 Lets see.. If it's 20 degrees on the ground, and you lose on the average of 3 degrees per thousand feet, and you get out of the plane at 13,500 and fall at approx 120 mph lets see doing the math, it 's kinda cold in freefall but it warms right up once you are under canopy..HA HA . I does get a might on the chilly side in the winter but it feels wonderful in the summer.

Anyway, all the DZs here have closed for the winter. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
popsjumper 2 #8 January 4, 2005 Maybe you found out what I did.....it doesn't matter how cold it is....the body warms up REAL fast as soon as you step out the door! My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
