willso 0 #1 August 22, 2004 Hey, just started this amazing sport, only done three jumps of AFF course in Picton AUSTRALIA. Absolutely love it, a bit tentative at thought of dive exit!! Any thoughts, opinions, advice on this subject. Also having problems with ears on opening and under canopy, which has stopped me doing my fourth today. Blue Skies. Brodes 0 #2 August 22, 2004 Awesome, another aussie one here. You've done the scariest AFF jumps, it's all fun from here on in! and dive exits are the best, it's just 'open door, jump out'
 ahegeman 0 #3 August 22, 2004 Welcome! Yeah, those dive exits were the hardest for me. I had a phobia about hitting the door, causing me to push off too hard and over-rotate. The first two I did perfectly were when I was concentrating so hard on diving after a group floating in front of me that I didn't have time to worry about my exit. You, and I, just need to relax, present, feel the relative wind and let the exit happen. As a skybaby myself, the only real advice I can give you is to remember that by the time your instructors let you perform a diving exit, no matter how bad your exit is, you WILL be perfectly capable of quickly and easily recovering stability and progressing with your dive flow. That confidence should help you relax. I almost did my tandem jump but cancelled last minute. Now I plan to do my static line 2 day course at Segamat dz where I get to do 2 jumps. But not I'm not sure whether I will have the guts to jump out of the door ... I not particulary afraid of heights but still ... Anyone here have done the SL in Segamat or will be jumping in Segamat in the near future. Any other advice or motivation will be appreciated. You obviously REALLY want to do it or you wouldn't have worked so hard to book in tandems/static lines. Trust me, you'll love it, and then wonder why you ever posted that stuff! Great to see skydivings taking off in Singapore, its a beautiful place
 willso 0 #7 August 23, 2004 Thanks for your reply, I think the thought, as with many things, is worse than the reality!! My wife has done a tandem and absolutely loved it. I did the training for my first AFF jump and was pleasantly suprised at how easy it was to actually take the leap, so too speak!! The training for the first AFF jump was eight solid hours, so this also helps with confidence. My advice, although somewhat limited, is to do it, because you won't want to stop, it's an unbelievable experience which cannot be compared to anything else. Good luck & Blue Skies.
