SueMermaid 0 #1 May 20, 2004 I am not a skydiver but an new to the forum. Why am I here, you ask? My fiancee Joe just started flying the Porter at Cross Keys in NJ, and I wanted to take a peek into your religion. I would love to go up with him and watch people jump out of that perfectly good plane. I am an adrenaline junkie myself, so you'd think I'd be a great target for brainwashing into jumping myself. I dunno, though, I can't imagine getting past the fear of the initial leap. Anyway, thanks for letting me read, you guys are funny! Sue
loflyer 0 #2 May 20, 2004 Hi Sue... Welcome to the forum! You most definetly should go up with him in the plane for an observer ride, it is awesome & you can see how much fun this sport is. But as you stated, you will probably be targeted by skydivers to just "DO IT". It is the most awesome thing you will ever do & skydivers are just great people. Go for a ride, then make a tandem, & well the rest is up to you! Have fun & let us know if you go for that ride! Blue Skies
Dougiefresh 0 #3 May 20, 2004 How dare you refer to my addiction as a religion! An insult to perfectly good addictions everywhere... SueMermaid 0 #6 May 21, 2004 Thanks for the nice welcome! I realize it's a total waste having all that access and not jumping. I got to go out to Cross Keys yesterday and watch Joe take up a load. I probably made an idiot of myself because I stood there yelling WHOA! WOW! WOW! I guess I knew it was a cool thing to do, but I didn't expect it to be THAT cool. You are right, it totally is something I will have to do. And I totally loved the culture surrounding the place, too. Can't wait for my first jump. Dougiefresh 0 #7 May 22, 2004 Yeah, you will not find a more close-knit community anywhere. The people are a big part of what make this sport what it is. Now jump, and you can be one of us!
