gus 1 #1 March 29, 2004 Last night I had my first malfunction dream in a couple of years, probably since I started AFF. We had quite an 'eventful' (stressfull) weekend with 2 of my friends coming very close to killing each other, another breaking his femur on landing and me jumping my new rig - so I guess that's where it came from. Anyway in this dream I was on a 3 or 4 way freefly jump, broke off as normal except I tracked for ages and ages, likes I had my Birdman suit on. Threw out the pilot chute but it came out all knotted up and trailing behind me. Somehow I caught it again in my right hand, had a little look at it, managed to unknot it (still in freefall remember!) and threw it again. Got a nice slow opening but the canopy came out like a ball of crap, looked like a step-through and a line over at the same time. I tried turning it and flaring it but at 1000 feet I decided I couldn't land it so chopped it. Pulled reserve but the cables were really long and I had to keep pulling and pulling to clear them, eventually got them out.....and nothing happened! Watched the ground coming up and at the last minute stood up, landed on my feet, fell forwards on to my knees and got up uninjured. orbitjunkie 0 #2 March 29, 2004 hey Gus, consider yourself lucky, 90% of my skydiving dreams involve some sort of malfunction. Usually though they involve some sort of mal that cannot actually occur..like my parachute actually flying upside down. Or a streamer which I am able to safely land; wierd stuff like that. pleifer 0 #3 March 29, 2004 My wierdist skydiving dream was this: I was doing a birdman jump which is funny cause I have never birdmaned... It was so real I thought about buying beer.... anyway when It came to pull time I thought I'm falling slow enough I can swoop the suit in.... lol so I did, slid on my belly, got up, dusted myself off. and walked back to the hanger... meanwhile everyone was up in arms about my "stunt" so I told them I just did not feel like packing for the next jump _________________________________________ The Angel of Duh has spoke Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
