clintster 0 #1 December 6, 2003 Well I figure it is about time for me to introduce my self to all of my skydiving friends out there. I have been surfing dropzone.com alot more lately (winter in Ohio SUCKS ASS) and should get in on the action here. I made my first AFF in June of this year and have made 65 jumps to date. I am fortunate to have made all of my AFF and following jumps at AEROHIO and am very greatful for the all of the wonderful instructors, coaches and friends that have helped me become better at a sport that I truly love. One thing about skydiving that is amazing that I did not expect when I started. YOU. What a wonderful group of people. You all should be proud of yourself. I have never felt more comfortable in front of strangers as I do with you all. Especially after I have TOTALLY destroyed a skydive. Not one word of anger or frustration was said. Only sound advice and encouragement was given. Then they asked me to go again.( but get it this time) That is extremely rare considering the cost of the sport that we have all chosen. I will be attending Eloy this month and I am looking forward to it more that Christmas. Actually I will be there for christmas. (present for me). I am a little nervous about such a busy drop zone, but I think I will be just fine. If anyone has any advice they would like to share I would be most grateful. Once again. Thank you all and I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can in Eloy. Blue Skies Clint Cappelle
labrys 0 #2 December 6, 2003 Hi Clint! The first thing I thought about when I saw your post was also how great the people I've met at AerOhio have been... then I realized that you were one of the people I was thinking of :-)Owned by Remi #?

Me too. I just got my A this November at AerOhio. I do not know if we have met or not. But welcome to the forums. QuoteI am a little nervous about such a busy drop zone, but I think I will be just fine. Yeah I would be too. I want to visit other DZ's but I am nervous about jumping over unfamiliar landmarks. I am just starting to get the lay of Rittman down. Let us know how Eloy goes.

Everyone on that dive was once the newbie that destroyed a dive. Newbie or not, we all take turns being that guy. Someday you'll be on a dive as the experienced one and a newbie will mess up. That'll be your chance to pay it forward. and you will. Just as they did.Have fun in Eloy! My only advise on going to a big, busy DZ is to not be scared to ask questions. Ask if there's a load organizer you can talk to. Let 'em know you're new and that you need to see an arial view of the DZ. Ask someone to point out the hazzards. Choose to land in the student landing area. Find out how they handle landing patterns. That kind of thing. Personally, I like to sorta walk the grounds a little bit before my fisrt jump at a new DZ, just to get a feel for the place and see the hazzards with my own eyes. I also like to watch a few loads land before I go up, just to kinda see what their landing patterns look like. ...and you're right...You'll be fine. I think you're in for a very merry Christmas!“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies.”

EDYDO 0 #10 January 18, 2004 Welcome Clint, We all bust one up occasionally. Learn from your mistakes and if a dive looks too complex, just back out and say why. Who knows, they may modify it. Progress slowly. Ed
