Nightingale 0 #1 April 12, 2004 Basically, I'm looking to buy non-airworthy rig parts. Junk such as old three-rings, worn closing pins, and scraps of old cutaway cable (about 6-8 inches long) that are only worthy of decoration. Stuff that would otherwise get thrown out maybe. I'm looking for stuff that I can use as decoration for the teddy bear/doll rigs I've been making. I looked at the full price new 3-ring systems from para-gear, but I don't need strength of brand new ones. They only have to hold a maybe 5 lb teddy bear. I really don't know where to begin asking, so I thought someone here might know who I should talk to or give me an idea of where I should start looking, or even if this is practical at all and if I should just keep using keychain rings to approximate the hardware. PhreeZone 20 #2 April 12, 2004 Go to your local hardware store and look in the misc aisle. They have welded rings that will work nicely for what you are doing and they are only about .15-.45 each ring and they come in all sizes. The cable is going to be harder to come by, but if any of the DZ's in the area have static line rigs, ask for the old handels when they throw them away. Hardware is hard to wear out, thats part of the reason its hard to find some of the things you are looking for. Material is way easier to wear out instead of a pin.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
