Riser cover coming loose..

Recommended Posts

Im jumping a Thomas Sports Teardrop Superfly...its new.I had it custom made for me.
I have noticed that although when packing the riser cover (inparticular left one) everything slots into place fine .... but when I get out ( RW or Sitflying) and look over half way through the dive I can see my cover flapping around !!...this happens more often than not.

I have spoke to a rigger and there is nothing 'wrong' with the setup and the rig fits me well....

Anybody got any thoughts or experiences like this ??

I do wear my chst strap...reasonably tight....if that makes any difference....but I dont think it does...

Im looking to start some HD flying soon....but cant even contemplate that until I can get this problem fixed...

Thanx

I have the same problem on my Javelin J1 ('93 mdodel)
I find that I need to put a stong curve in the harness at the shoulder as I close the flap.
I I just leave it sitting on the ground as I close it, it will pop out.

So give it a try, pick up[ the rig with your right hand and lift it up about a foot, making the shoulder curve, then tuc the flap.:)
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)
My Life ROCKS!
How's yours doing?

My old Javelin had that problem, but stayed closed if tucked in properly *after* putting the harness on.

YMMV.

Make sure your toggle keepers are top notch.

i had this problem on my old javelin. my rigger and i looked at it and found the problem was the hard peice of plastic in the cover was shaped into a curve from wear. So we just bent it back the opposite way and its been staying tucked in.
