ripper0289 0 #1 October 28, 2003 Hello everyone. My is Leonard, I'm new to the sport, I'm jumping out of Skydive Pennsylvania, I'm loving every jump but still need to figure out how to land standing up. Just wanted to say howdy to everyone.

meltdown 0 #3 October 28, 2003 Hey Leonard I had landing problems too - my last 2 tandems and my first 2 AFF jumps I landed on my ass. Since then I've landed them all on my feet. I posted a thread about this, and someone said "put your feet under you". Sounds too simple, but that, along with looking out in front, rather than straight down, did the trick. I just make sure my feet are under me, and if I have too much forward speed to just plant my feet and land, I run it out. Been working fine so far....GOOD LUCK
Jayruss 0 #4 October 28, 2003 Leonard you'll get your landings down soon, remember you've only done it a few times, wouldn't except a basketball player to get every shot after only a few minutes of practice. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

sdgregory 0 #6 October 29, 2003 My first five jumps were all perfect landings. Then the next 17 I haven't landed standing up yet. Now the reason . . . my first five jumps were all with radio assistance of some kind. Definitely not easy to do. I got frustrated and my instructor said how many things have you ever mastered in 22 attempts or one month? Honestly? I cannot think of one. I'll get it someday and so will you. Stick with it and listen to what the experienced ones tell you. Welcome to the sport and the forum.
