wannaflyhigh 0 #1 September 28, 2003 Hello, I am new to skydiving as well. I had my first tandem jump a few weeks ago and as soon as I get my paycheck I am going to go again. I want to sign up for the class too. Everyday since jumping I can't think about anything else but how I have to get up there again!!! It's nice to read everyone else's postings cause now I don't feel like a freak. Plus I think this is a great site to learn from everyone's experience. I have soooo many questions too about the sport, this may be the best site I've found on skydiving. Butterflybabe 0 #7 September 29, 2003 Oh yeah, you've got it bad!!! If you are a freak...... You have plenty of company!!!! LOL. We are all waiting for payday to fly too! This is an awesome web site and it does help to know that the craving you have is shared by so many that started out as a one time "just to see if I can do it" thing. I really feel like I should warn you though the next time IT GETS EVEN BETTER!!!
kelel01 1 #8 September 29, 2003 What's up freaks? J/K. I too am relatively new to the sport (I have one more level before I graduate from the AFF program). Just let me warn you: I am completely addicted! Yesterday, for example, I went to the DZ, but AFFs were grounded because of wind conditions. It was soooo depressing to see EVERYONE else at the DZ jump, and I just had to sit there like a bump on a log. It's a good thing everyone there is so cool and so much fun to talk to! But seriously, it makes regular like so boring. Now I go to my 9-5 job everyday, and I just wish that I could be back at the dropzone hanging out and tempting fate. wannaflyhigh 0 #9 September 30, 2003 Ok!!!! This is very cool. I just started a new job too and I can hardly concentrate. I just think 'ok, this will pay me so I can get back up there!!!!'. So I plan on taking the AFF class...what if I can't do it alone, or get too nervous?? Can I lose the DZ and be forced to land on a parkway or something? That's one of my fears.... lol. Just doing it once HAS done things for my confidence as well and I know completing the course and more jumps will be even BETTER! I just can't wait! kelel01 1 #10 September 30, 2003 Quotewhat if I can't do it alone, or get too nervous?? You know, I was REALLY nervous when I did my first AFF. My instructor kept asking me if I really wanted to go. I was so scared, but I just kept saying yes every time he asked. I don't think he believed me. Anyway, with each jump I get less and less nervous, and now I'm (mostly) just plain excited. And I feel more and more confident with my skills after each jump. You'll be surprised how quickly you progress! Don't worry! Have fun, and if you're nervous, that's more than ok . . . that's normal!! Good luck, and keep us posted as you keep training!! Kelly And remember . . . skydiving chicks rock!
