Atlas 0 #1 September 22, 2003 Hello everyone, my name is James and I'm 18 years old. Born and raised in Texas, and have always had the desire to sky dive at least once in my life. I figure this is the best place to learn about the real world of sky diving, and to get some hands-off experience. Does anyone happen to know if there is a DZ in Beaumont, Texas? I'm currently attending Lamar University as a Mechanical Engineer, so if anyone else is from Lamar, send me a private message. Just a bit of an introduction to who I am, so you don't wonder "Who is this fool" when I start posting :).
skymama 37 #2 September 22, 2003 Welcome to the forums! www.uspa.org. As far as dropzones, check out the dropzone listings on either site, I'm sure you'll find one close to home. Well, considering how big your state is, that might not hold true! By the way, you might want to take your e-mail address off the forums, the spam bots have a way of finding it.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
ifallout 0 #3 September 23, 2003 There are two DZ's in the Houston Area. Spaceland and Waller. http://www.skydivespaceland.com http://www.skydivehouston.com/ either one can hook you up I am sure. AggieDave 6 #4 September 23, 2003 2 DZs? Dude, what about Aggieland? We're only about 45 minutes North of Waller. Also, since we're a little bit smaller then both of them, our students definately get pulled into the "family."--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." ifallout 0 #5 September 23, 2003 Sorry didn't mean to cut you out. I have heard nothing but good things about Aggieland, just never have made it there yet and was thinking closest to him. I do keep intending to get there and play with you guys though. So I stand corrected, there are at least three... www.skydiveaggieland.com Bill have fun, love life, be nice to the humans
Atlas 0 #6 September 23, 2003 Well just learned something new. I didn't realize how expensive it was to do tandem jumps :(. Being in college and being broke isn't fun. But I'll figure it out. Thanks for the replies :)

Butterflybabe 0 #9 September 25, 2003 Tandem jumps are expensive...............but so is any "hands on" training that you get. I think that it is well worth it, besides I've already started telling my family and friends that skydiving gift certificates would be great birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, 4th of July, Ground Hog Day, and New Years Eve presents. If they want to know what I really want ....just one more jump please.............. Butterflybabe
