peachsouthern 0 #1 August 3, 2003 Hi all!! So I'm from Long Island and did my first tandem in Feb at skydiveLV and had to get back up and do it again. Parents just moved out there and after four days of furniture shopping I figured why not jump out of a plane. It is so addicting!!! Just did my second one back home in Jersey. Well now I can't wait to jump by myself. Any ideas of DZ's near Long Island or Jersey so I can get my A license? "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. TEB6363 0 #3 August 5, 2003 Also check the USPA web page : www.uspa.org.. They have lists of USPA DZs... And, Don't be afraid to go visit BEFORE you make a reservation... Drop by, say hello, see who is there and how you feel about the place.. After all, you are going to be trusting your life to some of those (these) people! Have Fun and Blue Skies. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
slotperfect 7 #4 August 6, 2003 Hello and welcome to our world! Stop by and say hi to our host, Sangiro. This world is his creation! There are two dropzones on Long Island . . . Long Island Skydiving Center and Skydive Long Island I don't know much about either one. I have been to Skydive Cross Keys which I was very impressed with. Very friendly folks. Have fun! peachsouthern 0 #5 August 7, 2003 Thanks so much everyone for the help!! My friends are getting tired of me constantly talking about all this and it's great that you guys are here! Hey Sangiro!!! Well I just scheduled to do my ground school and first aff jump next week. I'm so psyched. The only thing is waiting for the weather to clear up here and WAITING till next week (awhhh). Can't wait to tell you all about it. Hopefully the landing won't be to rough???? "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. selbbub78 0 #6 August 7, 2003 For continuing your student status, i recommend Skydive the Ranch in Gardiner, NY. I live in Jersey, and that's my home DZ. The people are safety orientated, friendly, and you really do learn a lot there also. It's probably a few hours from LI, but I know of a bunch of people from that particular area that come to the Ranch to jump. I haven't jumped at Crosskeys yet, but from what i hear that's a decent place to go too. :)"Women fake orgasms - men fake whole relationships" – Sharon Stone "The world is my dropzone" (wise crewdog quote) "The light dims, until full darkness pierces into the world."-KDM
