jceman 1 #26 June 11, 2003 You go, girl! Lynn and I will be waiting to hear about your most excellent adventure. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
ladyskydiver 0 #27 June 11, 2003 Rebel, I found this "poem." I don't remember who wrote it or I'd give them credit (so if anyone does, please, let me know, k?). I thought this applied to you quite well. You said: Quote“GO FOR IT” And, here is what the poem is: To often we are scared. Scared of what we might not be able to do. Scared of what people might think if we tried. We let our fears stand in the way of our hopes. We say no when we want to say yes. We sit quietly when we want to scream. And we shout with others, When we should keep our mouths shut. Why? After all, We do only go around once. There's really no time to be afraid. So stop. Try something you've never tried. Risk it. Enter a triathalon. Write a letter to the editor. Demand a raise. Call winners at the toughest court. Throw away your television. Bicycle across the United States. Try bobsledding. Try anything. Speak out against the designated hitter. Travel to a country where you don't speak the language. Patent something. Call her/him. You have nothing to lose And everything Everything Everything to gain. JUST DO IT. You've got some guts, hon! Your "Just doing it." Best of luck. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
Push 0 #28 June 11, 2003 Wow. Once in a while you hear about the coolest stuff. Go do it, you won't regret it. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
JoHawley 0 #29 June 11, 2003 That's really cool. My dad has a disability which means he'll never be able to do a jump and he came down to the DZ for the first time at the weekend to watch me. He was saddened that he'll never be able to try it. It's great that you aren't prevented by your MS and that you haven't let it stop your hunger for this. Have an excellent excellent time (I know you will)
 Scottyb 0 #30 June 11, 2003 Great to hear you are getting up for a jump. sometimes physical obstacles can be overcome and I have found everyone in the skydiving community will do just about anything possible to make a dream like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane come true. I also live just outside of Philly and am taking my younger sister for her fist skydive at crosskeys. She has Cerebral palsy and can not walk or speak but communicates with a computer she is 24. When my wife and I did our first tandem she was at the DZ with us and was telling us how crazy we were (typical wuffo) After seeing how much we love it she wants to go. We went to the DZ last week & paid for her jump & video but just as we got there the the sky opened up and we have to reschedule. We hope to do in the next week or so. Good luck with with your jump and keep us posted.
 Amazon 7 #31 June 12, 2003 Rebel, I think that whatever you set your mind to you can do. I applaud ANYONE who follows thier dreams. Let us know how it goes. AND.... when you go out the door of the airplane... make sure EVERYONE on the ground can hear you. Have a blast in the sky Amazon
 outofit 0 #32 June 13, 2003 welcome and good luck! the first one is always the best!
