Chalk another Newbie up!

Recommended Posts

Well, you all sucked one more newbie into the fold. I got a Tandem jump in and I am jumping again for AFF L1 on Saturday the 26th! I am very excited to get started in my certification to get my license! From the first few moments, skydiving has replaced my fave "extreme sports" - mt. biking and snowboarding. They seem like just plain old sitting on the couch by comparison! Thanks in advance for all the info I plan to suck off the site!;). I' be sure to post after I get a few in!!!

Welcome to the sport and to these forums! Say hi to our host, Sangiro (herein known as HH) when you get a chance.

Good luck on your training. Remembers that there are a lot of personal opinions out there (and here). Trust your instructors through your training and use their input primarily during your learning phase.

1. Once addicted; be prepared to spend half your income and all your weekends at the drop zone.

2. Sell the snowbaords and mountain bikes, you're gonna need the money.

3. You won't lose your girlfriend, you'll only lose your turn.

4. Be prepared to buy lotsa beer... We have a lot of beer offenses.

5. You are about to embark on a journey that few take and stay with - as a result we are a very tight family circle.

6. Our family is dysfunctional. We can hate each other this week and next week, all is fine. And, while we can hate each other, let some non-skydiver say something bad about a family member.

Welcome to the family :P

Skymama, do you ever feel as if you are standing at the door of a large banquet hall, trying to say hello to everyone who arrives?

I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane.

Lol, yes, but I don't mind at all! I figure as the "host" greenie of the forum, it's my duty to welcome everyone and make them feel comfortable. I'd hate for someone to be standing on the side of the room having no one talk to them. Plus, the one time I missed someone, I got complaints!

Welcome new sky person. OF COUSE you find skydiving far superior to other sad excuses for excitement, such as snowboarding. I myself decided that getting into snowboarding (after growing up on skis) would be the new escape for me. I went two or three times, started skydiving, and haven't bought a rip-off lift ticket since. Beware the new addiction you are heading for. You will think about jumping more than sex. That is not a joke.
