miniFly 0 #1 March 12, 2003 Hi, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm fairly new to skydiving and working on getting my A license, my first 2 AFF levels went by just fine but my jumpmaster is making me repeat my level 3 jump, mainly due to the fact that when they let me go I started a small spin, managed to pull and was very altitude aware otherwise, is this something fairly common?, I'm a bit bummed out and dont' know what I should be practicing on the ground for my next jump. TomAiello 26 #3 March 12, 2003 Hi Yourself!Quote...my jumpmaster is making me repeat my level 3 jump...I'm a bit bummed...Don't be bummed. Be happy you've got a jumpmaster who's concerned enough about your safety to make you do it right.Everyone has trouble learning something.Check out this web page. It took her 7 months and 48 jumps to finish her training. And now she's a well respected jumper with thousands of jumps (you might even find her moderating a forum somewhere around here).Hang in there, and welcome to the forums!-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
payback462 0 #4 March 12, 2003 hi and welcome!!! spinning in freefall is probably the most common problem in AFF, (i never had that problem but then again im sure nobody was as bad a canopy pilot as i was) the most important thing is to remember to relax and have fun! blewaway5 0 #7 March 13, 2003 Hi, and like several have already said, don't stress about failing a level. It's actually a lot less of a failure and a lot more of a let's work to fix this basic before we throw you out in tougher stuff. Or, as my favorite bar owner in the whole world says, "Don't sweat the petty shit, pet the sweaty shit." Truman Sparks for President
