Just saying Hi...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I thought I'd throwout the introduction. I'm a newbie and just got my A license. I have 22 jumps. I started a month ago and I got it bad. I bought my own rig after my 6th jump but my instructor wouldn't let me jump it until I got my Lic. They guys (and ladies) at the DZ are great and always looking out for the newbies. I jump in San Diego at Skydive San Diego. Nice relaxed place. I have a triathlon 190 and a reflex container. I like it. I want to further educate myself and start doing something a little more advanced. The solo jumps are getting kind of dull. I would like to develop some canopy and freefall skills and start practicing. Anyone have any suggestions? Any books I could read? Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Good instructional videos: Basic Body Flight, Kinesthesia, Body Pilot in Command
Good canopy skills video: Fly like a Pro
Good safety video: Breakaway
Good books: The Art of Freefall Relative Work, The Skydivers Handbook, The Skydiver's Survival Guide
Especially The Art of Freefall Relative Work by Pat Works. It'll give you great advice on where to go from here, and why.

Howdy! We like the ones we get our claws in so easily! Err... yea, have fun. It only gets better. Listen to others and try to determine the good and the bad... Theres is a lot of great advice out there, but a little bad.. so be safe and have fun!

Welcome, and always remember to carry a big ass can of salt with you. So you can apply a grain to the advice you may get. Like the man said, there's a lot of good to get, but there's some not so good too. Either way, welcome to the addiction.
