sid 1 #1 March 31, 2004 So I just hung a reserve that belongs to a heavy smoker. First, the damn rig stinks, to the point where I was eyeing the Febreze (although I wouldn't) and considering charging hazard pay. Then I got to remembering my quasi-medical background and remembered some of the 2000+ toxic chemicals released in cigarette smoke and wondered if anyone knew of studies on the effects of prolonged exposure of nylon to these chemicals. There are highly caustic, acidic and toxic chemicals in cigarette smoke, and if it permeates the nylon and is held in there for 120 days can it do any damage to the integrity of the fabric?Pete Draper, Just because my life plan is written on the back of a Hooter's Napkin, it's still a life plan.... right? FrogNog 1 #2 April 1, 2004 Nylon is pretty resistant. Some things eat nylon, a lot of things don't. I couldn't say with regards to cigarette smoke. You need a quasi-chemist for this Q. -=-=-=-=- Pull.
