rushboy 0 #1 March 4, 2004 I'm hoping someone here can help me. I'm a jumper, but a non-jumping buddy of mine just bought a Bi-Plane and was asking me if I could help him track down a pilot's rig. It can be new or used, but must be working and safe. Can anyone give me any info on what to look for and where to look? If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space. sundevil777 102 #3 March 4, 2004 You need to know whether the chute will fit better on the back or is it better to sit on it, or spread out on the back and seat. There is a used seat rig here: http://www.parachuteshop.com/used_pilot_parachutes.htm Also try: http://sl.cometsystems.com/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.softieparachutes.com%2F&qry=pilot+emergency+parachutes&rnk=3&aff=inkt&v=8&origin=asearch&tmpl=0AenPeople are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

riggerrob 643 #8 March 5, 2004 Start by asking your buddy how fast his biplane will fly (Vne), then find a certified canopy that has been tested past that airspeed. You will be amazed to learn how few emergency canopies are ceritified for use in airplanes faster than 150 knots! The next step is measuring his cockpit - with him sitting - to determine where there is enough spare room to fit a chute. The third step is asking leading manufacturers (Butler, National, Para-Phernalia, Rigging Innovations, Strong, etc.) which one can supply a container to fit the seat in his biplane.
