NickDG 23 #1 March 25, 2006 Hi All, I've added two names to the Fatality List The latest one, Paul, and another that occurred back in 1987, and which has just come to light. The ‘87 incident is now #15 and Paul, the latest entry, is #94 . . . NickD BASE
TVPB 0 #2 March 25, 2006 Well, we've only recently passed BASE #1000 and we are getting close to #100 on this list. I hope it never happens but reality tells me it is only inevitable. Hopefully the ratio is getting smaller (BASE # : fatals) which is a good thing. Lets see if we can hold #100 off for a long time. At moments like these, someone I knew would be pulling out short straws. Keep it simple. Attend to the fundamentals. Do the right thing for you, your gear, your jump, and the conditions. Stay Safe - Have Fun - Good Luck The above could be crap, thought provoking, useful, or . . But not personal. You decide.

sabre210 0 #4 March 25, 2006 Paul's sister informed me at the funeral that his card came through from Joy a day or two before. He was awarded BASE # 1066 which i am sure would make any UK basejumper smile as it is of course the date of the Battle of Hastings which is a very pivotal moment in British history. QuoteThe Battle of Hastings 1066 was the last time England was successfully invaded and conquered by a foreign army. It brought greater unity and strength to a country which was already wealthy and strong in governmental systems but which was dynastically and territorially insecure. ian
