RSL retaining ring

Recommended Posts

A senior rigger told me that my RSL does not have a retaining ring. I jump a Vector II. He advised me to see a master rigger about it, which I will do. In the meantime, can anyone tell me why this is bad? Thanks.

You would have to send me a picture of the RSL on your Vector. If it is a Relative Workshop RSL, with a semi-curved pin directly attached to the end of the RSL, it should have a "guide ring", through which the RSL passes (unless it has the Skyhook installed). If it is some other after market conversion, I'd have to look at it to know if it is safe. By the way, most after market conversions aren't legal.

I would recommend contacting The Relative Workshop and ask to speak with T.K. Donle or one of their riggers. They will be more than happy to help you.
